Bay Area bellydancers are invited to Hejira, a hafla (bellydance party) benefitting Hurricane Katrinia victims. Bring your zils and be prepared to shake your booty!
Bellydance lesson with Kristina Canizares of the Nekyia starts the evening, followed with performances by local dance troupes including Bastet, Isis and Naima Faddin, live drumming with Scott Sterling and open floor bellydance jam to music from Turkish to Tribal style. All profits go to the Red Cross to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims. To perform, RSVP soon as space is limited!
